Tip of Borneo, Kudat, Sabah, Malaysia
Malaysian Borneo, and peninsular Malaysia, has many beautiful beaches that not many know of. These expansive come-hither palm forests, wild jungle, and these not-very-populated towns line the coastline from Kota Kinabalu.
It is Sabah’s largest town and its capital. And we can say that it would give you a feeling of being at the end of the world when you are at the Tip of Borneo. If pristine sands, clear and calm waters are your thing, you should probably visit this veritable paradise. Easy, on your pockets too, considering it goes beyond the conventional beaches.
Moonstone Beach, Trinidad, California, USA
California is privy to some of the gorgeous beaches you could find around the world. But if you are looking for the less-trodden, head to the “lost coast” in Humboldt County.
It is a few hours south of the Oregon border, and those hidden coves offer some welcome solace to your city-afflicted eyes. They are still there as Nature found it, unspoiled, rugged, and untouched by the interference of modern civilization.
Angelsea, Victoria, Australia
Australia is a surfer’s paradise and is replete with some of the most astoundingly gorgeous beaches, each unique and beautiful in the everchanging landscape of the island continent. However, Anglesea is quite near Melbourne’s city and is not your average beach, as it’s still mostly uninhabited and bereft of noisy tourists. With its endless stretches of sand, it can appeal to the eclectic traveler. The coppery cliffs offer a breathtaking view of the expansive sea.
Koh Ta Keo Cambodia
Yiu can get to this beachy paradise with a long-tail boat from the mainland in Cambodia. Koh Ta Keo is as close to paradise you can get and largely unpopulated.
So, you do not get very many city-like amenities such as electricity, western toilets, or plush restaurants, or anything else. All you get are large stretches of untouched beaches where your unflinching gaze takes you.
Kellys Beach, Kouchibouguac, New Brunswick, Canada
You could find the next unknown beach on the New Brunswick in Kouchibouguac National Park. Kellys Beach is Instagram-worthy and a haven among cyclists, reluctant and serious hikers, and bird watchers. Quite the beaches that promise more than it meets the eye, with its dunes and tall grasses and its shores are dotted with seals and sea lions. The park is full of beautiful natural protected areas rambling for 238 square kilometers.
Panari, Yaeyama Island, Okinawa, Japan
Are the waters of Panari that clear and so blue that it can shame the color blue? Comfortably nestled near Taiwan, these islands off Okinawa are warm and inviting with a tropical climate. And it’s such a remote place that people living in the area speak a different dialect altogether that does not sound Japanese.
White Island, Camiguin, Mindanao, Philippines
If you are an avid scuba diver, then head to the Mindanao region of the Philippines. Camiguin is not a place you could visit often. But it is a rather safe island, quite near Bohol, with what most traditional beaches offer and more actually much more, complete with friendly locals and easy to walk into virginal beaches.
