Who doesn’t love weddings? From choosing the perfect venue to picking flowers, the planning experience can be both fun and exhausting. On atypical day, pulling off the ideal ceremony would be a breeze. But what happens when your wedding date happens to be in the middle of a global pandemic?

Check out how these creative young couples made the most out of a dire situation, proving that love is all that matters at the end of the day.

Dayspring and Shane Walsh

Dayspring and Shane Walsh: A memorable ceremony for this couple

California couple Dayspring and Shane had their sights set on getting married at a Los Angeles art collective, but their plans went down the drain when the Coronavirus epidemic happened.

Still, the lovely couple didn’t want to let the virus get in the way of their marriage, so they did what they could to have a simple yet memorable ceremony.

With only a few hours of planning, they were able to successfully manage a wedding in their apartment—complete with a cake and an ordained minister who happened to be the bride’s dad!

At the height of the pandemic, Lindsey’s dad, unfortunately, got infected. This meant that the couple would have to scrap their original plans and have the wedding as soon as possible. Instead of having it at a beautiful hotel in Austin, they opted to celebrate their love at a local drive-in theatre called Doc’s.

With social distancing in place, their guests (Lindsay’s dad included) had to witness the ceremony from the comfort and safety of their vehicles. It wasn’t their dream wedding, but it was perfect.

Jim and Lindsay knew they wanted to keep their chosen wedding date intact, so they had to find a clever way to make it happen with every guest’s safety in mind. Their grand country club nuptial was switched to a simple ceremony by the church steps. The huge guest list was trimmed to 20, inviting only close family members.

Despite these changes, loved ones who were unable to attend the wedding physically still showed their support to the couple by participating in a drive-by parade!

Kingsley and Cameron Ross

Kingsley and Cameron’s dream wedding was to happen at New Orleans. But fate had something else in mind when COVID-19 hit. The couple decided to have an intimate wedding by the beach instead, with only select friends and family present.

The events helped them realize that there’s no need for anything fancy as long as they have each other.
